WHEN A PROBLEM OF EVIL GETS SO BIG IT IS MORE THAN A PROBLEM!  THE PROBLEM OF EVIL.

How can an all-good God let evil happen? Why do babies suffer if God has the power to prevent it? The Christians claim that part of the answer is that suffering is temporary.  They cannot maintain that some things are worth suffering for such as becoming more loving and compassionate if God has you paralysed by suffering forever or all your life assuming there is no life after death.

"Suffering is temporary" is something they have no right to be so sure of.  Not when if I am suffering now and it stops me developing myself as loving and compassionate person!  Suffering an whatever allows it does not really care about my development.  Caring sometimes is not caring at all.  It is just about what suits or what the whim of the day is.

The "suffering is temporary" is a lie for they believe that certain sinners will suffer everlasting punishment in Hell. And their answer shows an unwillingness to accept Jesus' doctrine that it is good to get your just deserts so if you deserve Hell have the humility to accept it. They might be afraid that people might want to go to Hell because they deserve it. Some people do want punishment.

A Roman Catholic prayer calls upon St Michael the Archangel to put Satan back in Hell. That sounds vicious. The Church may say that Satan belongs there and that we would send him back there not because we are bad but because we are so good that we give him what he wants. The Church says that if we go to Hell to suffer forever, it is what we have asked for and God kindly grants it. This is an obviously absurd teaching. It shows the Church is actually grateful to God for putting demons and people in Hell. And as God is considered to deserve worship for this what does that say about those who worship him?

Understand this: IF EVERLASTING PUNISHMENT AND THE LOVE OF GOD CAN BE RECONCILED, THEN GOD IS SO LOVING THAT HE GIVES THE PEOPLE IN HELL THE EVERLASTING AGONY THEY ASK FOR. That is the heart of the issue. But we recoil from it though Christians don't. We know it makes no sense. Whoever preaches Hell is wilfully whitewashing his or her vindictive God. You need read no more unless you want to.

WHY DO CHRISTIANS PRAISE A GOD WHO MAY LET PEOPLE GO TO HELL AND WHO MUST CREATE THE SUFFERING THEY ENDURE THERE WHEN THEY WOULD NOT PRAISE A GOD WHO SEXUALLY MOLESTED A CHILD? IT IS STRANGE TO ARGUE THAT HELL IS A MYSTERY IN AT LEAST SOME WAYS AND THEN TO ASSERT THAT IT IS NOT GOD'S TORTURE CHAMBER! HOW COULD YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOU ADMIT THERE IS A MYSTERY ABOUT IT? MAYBE IT IS THE LESSER EVIL FOR GOD TO SET UP A TORTURE CHAMBER IN HELL?

We want a God of love and compassion but in fact it is more important that we get these things than that God gets them right.  It's about the personal touch not the moral touch.  You want your mother to love you and it is not about morals.  There is something hard in the promotion of God and there is something hard in his worshippers.
