Forcing sinners to repent and should God do it if he can and get us to do it?

IF WRONGDOINGS ARE MISTAKES THEN FORCE ALLOWED

The world sees that when you do evil you do it because it seems good to you. It is good in your perception because it is done for something good or best under the circumstances.

We routinely use force and intolerance to deal with mistakes and to prevent them. For example, the child will be forced to spell correctly at school.

This makes all religion's grand talk about the importance and necessity of tolerance and freedom of thought to be mere deception.

How can it be tolerant to jail a murderer for committing murder when he thought it was right when he was doing it? What he thought before or after is irrelevant for we can only judge him on the basis of what was in his mind and will when he was doing it. The murderer is ultimately punished for what he thought – he thought that murder was good.

This proves that religion and politicians may condemn revenge but they let it in the back door. Revenge or bigotry that is called something else - justice is the favoured term - and pretended to be that something is exceedingly more vile than flagrant vengeance. How can you deal with an evil if it is disguised?

Religionists are opposed to freedom of thought at least in their hearts. They are perfectly capable of drenching the world in blood to eradicate heresy. At least the state tries to ground itself in reality but religion prefers fantasy and blind faith which makes it more attached to evil and dangerous than any totalitarian state could be.

You can only avoid legitimising this evil if you become an Atheist and attack the ideas of free will and retributive punishment.

Now wrongdoing is one thing. Sin is another. Wrongdoing is simply intending to hurt another person without any concern for their wellbeing. Sin means that you intend to hurt God as well by doing what he has banned. So if you believe in sin, that belief will make you badder when you do wrong.

The doctrine of sin makes religion far more intolerant than mere opposition to wrongdoing would. Religion suffers from the disease of apathy too much to reach its full fruition as intolerance.

Religion of Peace? Why Christianity is and Islam Isn't, Robert Spencer, Regnery Publishing Inc, Washington, 2007 - a curious book in that it simply doesn't mention how Christian Scriptures incited believers, eg Calvinists, to attack and destroy other believers who were thought to be heretics and doesn't mention the infallible decrees of the Roman Catholic Church commanding the violent destruction of heretics but wants to give the impression that unlike the Koran, the Christian Scriptures and the Christian religion do not make calls for religious violence
