Your mind is far greater than you can sense. Your conscious mind is only a small part of the mind. The subconscious mind is the part of your mind that works your conscious mind but you are not aware of it. It is full of beliefs, discoveries, thoughts, feelings and memories that you are not aware of right now but are still there.

Your mind is what is answering prayer to God not God.

Religion sells itself on the allegation that it can provide support and guidance if your life collapses.  This is not true.  Atheists who have not wavered have come up from rock-bottom too.  They see that the strength came from themselves, from within.

Using a crutch means that you might have wasted time trying to find it and trying to use it.  The religious person who rises above the cruelty of life by faith may not realise that without religion and God-belief they might have done it faster.  And what about those who they inspire who do not see that faith only made it worse.  If somebody is depressed telling them God is there only adds to the problem.  They start to hate themselves for not feeling inspired by that or for not sensing any support from above.  They think the reason God does not help is that they are doing something to block him.  Arthritics without the cane get the best results for exercise helps.

Sense not believe that your inner resources you never knew you had can help you when you least expected it.  Even if they give you the courage to get medical help for say a psychological that is you helping yourself.  You are the one seeking the help and letting it work.

Sensing it helps and empowers for you develop hope.

This is in addition to the power it already has.
